Bohlale Makgolane [Stage Name ‘Bo Maq’] is an extraordinary talent who hails from Limpopo and has been in the game for nearly a decade, as demonstrated by his growing loyal fan base – Maqavellians. Bo Maq is a bonafide storyteller as an Urban Vocalist, Actor and Assistant Director.
His musical solo career kicked off with the release of several single’s from 2014, and hit a new peak in 2019 with the debut release of his EP : In A Perfect World. Bo Maq has followed this momentum up with his first album release in 2020, a collaborative effort with renowned Producer Civil The Sound, titled Future Sounds. The lead single on the album, Henny on a Tuesday features R ‘n B vocalist Raspy, and has received positive reviews in Hype Magazine and Slikour On Life to mention a few. Morning Light has also been a stand out single, with the music video on rotation on MTV Base. The Future Sounds album has also led to a groundbreaking video production partnership with Turn Up Music & Joox, as well as a broadcast partnership with SABC 1 courtesy of Selimathunzi. This includes a Future Sounds docuseries which gives insights into the album and a sneak peek into Bo Maq.
His behind the camera work includes an Assistant Director role on Lockdown S5 alongside Mandla N, as well as the Blockbuster ‘Loving Thokoza’ and most recently, Vula Vala on Mzansi Magic Channel 161. His film & TV work continue with more exciting directing projects in 2020.
